Spiders Place Fifth In Alabama To Close Fall Season

LOXLEY, Ala. - The Richmond men's golf team placed fifth at the Steelwood Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama.

UR's upperclassmen led the effort through three rounds as Richmond closed its fall season.

Senior Keegan Hoff placed tied for 17th with a scorecard of 72-72-73=217 (+1). Junior Matthew Lowe was just one stroke behind Hoff at 73-72-73=218 (+2), finishing in a tie for 21st overall.

Senior Mark Reilly posted two rounds under par as he went 70-78-71=219 (+3) to place 24th.

Freshman Zack Justice shot 73-77-75=225 (+9), while sophomore Ben Wanichek shot 81-79-78=238 (+22).

UR returns to the course next spring with the Atlantic 10 Match Play tournament in Ft. Lauderdale on Feb. 20.
