Pair Of Spiders Earn All-State Honors

HAMPTON, Va. – After standout seasons on the forward line, Richmond women’s soccer attackers Lexi Prillaman and Meaghan Carrigan were named to the 2016 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Women’s Soccer All-State team.

Prillaman was named to the All-State First Team, while Carrigan earned All-State Second Team honors.

Prillaman capped off a breakout season with the first All-State honor of her career. The junior attacker started all 19 games and led the Spiders with 12 goals and eight assists for 32 points, all of which placed her in the top five in the conference. The team captain also earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for her efforts this season.

Carrigan earned her second All-State honor after being named to the First Team in 2014. The senior captain started 16 games after returning from injury in 2015, scoring 11 goals and adding three assists for 25 points. She also led the team with a .282 shot percentage, scoring on 11 of her 39 shots.
