NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second-straight week, Richmond freshman Jaide Hinds-Clarke has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week following a pair of outstanding performances that resulted in two Spider wins.

The Spiders began the week with a 54-37 victory over Morgan State, during which Hinds-Clarke dropped in 10 points on 5-6 shooting as one of four to reach double figures for the winning side. She also contributed three rebounds, one block and a steal in just 21 minutes of action.

In her Atlantic 10 debut the Westwood, N.J. native canned 12 more points on 5-7 shooting this time, again as one of four to reach double figures. She pulled down four more rebounds, blocked another shot and picked up one more steal in 23 minutes.

Jaide now ranks fourth on the team by averaging 7.2 points per game and is third with 4.0 rebounds per game. Above all else the freshman is shooting 47.5 percent from the floor, which far and away ranks atop the Spiders all while averaging just 15.6 minutes per game. That field goal percentage also ranks eighth in the league.

The Spiders return to the floor on Thursday (Jan. 5) at VCU for the first of two matchups with their crosstown rivals. That game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip and will air live nationally on CBS Sports Network.
