Richmond Rebounds In A-10 Match Play With Consecutive Wins

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Richmond Spiders rebounded from an opening-match defeat to FAU with wins over St. Bonaventure and George Mason to finish fifth in the annual Atlantic 10 Match Play tournament in the Weston Hills Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Richmond was paired with FAU in the first round, despite wins from Keegan Hoff and Zack Justice, ultimately fell 3.5 to 2.5 to move to the consolation bracket.

From there, UR played with precision in a 6-0 sweep of St. Bonaventure in Monday's second round. Jason Park won his match by four holes, Ben Wanichek by nine holes, Matthew Lowe by six holes and Justice and Hoff each by four holes. Andrew Sciarretta was up one when the match was called.

In Tuesday's action, the Spiders squared off against George Mason where UR came away with a 4-2 victory. Wanichek, Sciaretta, Hoff and Lowe all came out victorious in their matches.

The Spiders return to Ft. Lauderdale on March 6-7 for the Ft. Lauderdale Intercollegiate at the Ft. Lauderdale Country Club.
