Donnici Leads Spiders With Strong Second Round

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Junior Marie Donnici shot a team-best round of 73 (+1) to lead the Spiders' second round in the Kiawah Island Classic on Tuesday.

Richmond currently sits in a tie for seventh place heading into the final round. UR compiled a team round of 302 (+14) for a cumulative score of 596 (+20).

Last year, the Spiders finished 12th in the tournament with a combined score of 908 (+44). UR's best showing in Kiawah came in 2012 when Richmond finished fourth overall with a combined score of 893 (+29).

Donnici moved up to 36th overall after rounds of 77-73 to sit at +6. Elsa Diaz shot a second-round score of 77 to sit +2 and in a tie for 13th overall.

Annie Collom improved in her second round, posting a card of 78-74 (+8) entering the final round, while Isabella Rusher shot 76-78 (+10). Sophie DiPetrillo will look to bounce back on the final day after a round of 84 on Tuesday.

The final round begins on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m.
