NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The 2016-17 women’s basketball season may have come to a close on Sunday afternoon but the Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades came rolling in on Tuesday morning. Senior guard Janelle Hubbard joins an All-Conference Team for the third-straight season and freshman forward Jaide Hinds-Clarke has been chosen to the All-Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office.

Hubbard joins the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team in the wake of leading the Spiders in scoring (14.1 ppg) for the third consecutive season. She closed the season ranked ninth in the league in scoring after posting 21 double-digit scoring efforts and six 20-point games. The senior becomes just the fourth Spider, since the school joined the Atlantic 10, to be named to an All-Conference team three times, joining Brittani Shells, Saona Chapman and Kate Flavin.

The Glenn Dale, Md. native finished her career with 1,717 points which rank fifth all-time in program history and did so by producing 93 double-digit scoring games and 20, 20-point games in 124 contests. She ranks sixth all-time in career scoring average (13.8), fifth in field goals made (625), fifth in three-point field goals made (177), ninth in free throws made (290) and eighth in games played (124).

Freshman forward Jaide Hinds-Clarke earns the All-Rookie Team nod after averaging 7.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 39.4 percent from the floor, all in just a meager 17.0 minutes per game. Hinds-Clarke made 14 starts during her debut season and earned three A-10 Rookie of the Week awards en route to becoming the seventh Spider to join the All-Rookie team in program history. She is the first since Liz Brown earned A-10 All-Rookie accolades following the 2011-12 season.
