In the coming weeks, the University of Richmond women’s soccer team will highlight members of the 2017 signing class through a “Getting to Know” segment on RichmondSpiders.com. 

Name: Olivia Tripodi
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Arlington, Va.
High School: Yorktown

Coach Peter Albright on Tripodi: Olivia’s versatility is a quality that we look for in all of our recruits. Tough and quick, she plays with passion and loves the game. Olivia is a team player who I has great potential for the future. Her poise and leadership will be valuable qualities as she competes for minutes as a first year.”  

At what age did you begin playing soccer: 5 years old

Why do you love playing soccer?: It makes me happy!

Why Richmond?: The location, the wonderful soccer program, the beautiful campus, the academics, the size of the school and the school spirit.

What are you most excited about about when thinking of joining the Spider Family?: Becoming close with the team and making new best friends.


What do you do before each game?: Make a snack

What is your dream job?: To work in the White House

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?: Invisibility


Who is your greatest inspiration?: My mom
