UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Junior Daniel Brumbaugh is coming off a big week for the Spider Baseball team. Not only was the Texas native able to go back to the Lonestar State for the Spiders' spring break trip, but he was also a stud on the diamond.

Brumbaugh led Richmond with six hits and six RBI and a 2-0 record on the mound last week to be named the Wells Fargo Student-Athlete of the Week.

In the Spiders' final game in Texas, Brumbaugh was responsible for the game-winning RBI and pitched a perfect 1-2-3 ninth inning to get his first win on the mound, and secure the 7-5 victory over Incarnate Word.

His big week didn't stop there. On Saturday against Youngstown State, Brumbaugh smoked a walk-off three-run homer in the tenth to push the Spiders to a 5-2 win. Once again, he had a strong relief perofrmance in the tenth, shutting down the Penguin offense to collect his second win on the hill.

Brumbaugh and the Spiders return to action at Pitt Field on Friday against Cornell. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
