Two earn Scholar of Distinction Honors; Nine on National Academic Squad

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Success on and off the field is essential to the University of Richmond field hockey program.

That was on display when the ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad was announced, along with the Division I Scholars of Distinction.

Elise Zwicklbauer and Allison Ludwig received high praise as Scholars of Distinction, which honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or greater through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.

Richmond had nine different student-athletes honored as part of the National Academic squad, which recognizes student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.

Joining Zwicklbauer and Ludwig as part of the National Academic squad was Katrina Balatgek, Laetitia Commeyne, Nealy Henderson, Amanda Hoyt, Meredith Hubert, Emma Nash and Hannah Thomson.
