BEALLSVILLE, Md. – The University of Richmond women’s golf team was led this week by Maria Donnici who paced the group with scores of 79, 75, 80 to card an 18-over 234 en route to finishing tied for 33rd overall at the Hoya Invitational. The team finished 12th overall.

Sophie DiPetrillo (78, 81, 76, +19) finished in a tie for 35th overall while Isabella Rusher (77, 79, 81, +21) checked in in a tie for 43rd to round out those who finished in the top 50.

Other Spider finishers included Elsa Diaz (83, 79, 80, +26) and Annie Collom (82, 87, 81, +34). DiPetrillo carded the low round of the day for the Spiders with her third-round 76 but Donnici gets to claim the low round of the tournament with her 75 in round two.

This event served as the final tune-up before the Spiders head to Bethlehem, Pa. to defend their Patriot League title. With much of the roster returning from last season Richmond will have a strong chance to repeat as champions for the first time in program history.
