LEXINGTON, Ky. – Juniors Amanda Corbosiero and Marisa Ruskan are done preparing, it's go time.
The veteran duo will look to extend their historic seasons with the University of Richmond track & field squad on Thursday when they lace up in the NCAA East Preliminary Round, both running in the 1500m race. That event is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Should their times be good enough to advance to the quarterfinals they will run again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The top five times in each section advance to the quarterfinal. The top finishers in the quarterfinal will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Corbosiero is making her second straight NCAA postseason after reaching NCAA East Prelims last year in Jacksonville. This goes on top of earning at spot at the USATF Indoor Championships this past February.
The Rosedale, N.J. native earned a spot in this year's 1500m with a time of 4:22.99 at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg.
Ruskan is making her first-ever NCAA East Prelims appearance after her personal-best time of 4:23.85 in the 1500 at the New Captains Meet in April.
