SEACAUCUS, N.J. – Junior Keenan Bartlett watched a lifelong dream come true on Wednesday afternoon. The Phoenix, Ariz. native became the 39th Spider selected in the MLB Draft since 1995, when the San Francisco Giants drafted Bartlett in the 31st round.

“We are really excited for Keenan and the opportunity to continue his playing career at the next level," said head coach Tracy Woodson. "We know that he is going to be a great addition for the Giants organization."

Bartlett made seven starts this spring for the Spiders logging 31.1 innings of work. The right-hander registered 21 strikeouts during his time on the hill. He matched a career-best outing of eight innings at St. Bonaventure and punched out five batters, a season-high, at Saint Joseph's.

In three seasons, he has made 36 appearances, including 16 starts for a 5.92 ERA in 111 innings.

He is the third Spider to be selected by the Giants. Former Spiders Thomas Martin (2004) and Mike Mergenthaler (2011) were also drafted by the organization.
