Robins Center Renovation Central


Built in 1972 through the generosity of the E. Claiborne Robins family, the Robins Center is undergoing a $17 million renovation that will make it one of the premier college basketball arena's in the nation.

The renovations will create a more intimate game day atmosphere and provide enhanced amenities for basketball fans The renovations to the main arena of the Robins Center will include new lighting, painted ceiling, video boards, scoreboards, refurbished seats, new premium seating options, new hospitality areas, a refinished/newly painted court and renovated restrooms. 

The superbly maintained sports complex houses the University's athletic squads and serves as the showplace for University of Richmond basketball.

The men's and women's locker rooms and lounges were modernized and upgraded with state-of-the art amenities.

In addition to sporting and recreational activities, the Robins Center yearly serves as the site for Richmond's commencement exercises and also provides a forum for countless other educational and cultural events.

The eyes of the world were focused on the Robins Center in 1992, as one of that year's Presidential debates was held in the Center's main arena and President Obama spoke in the building in 2011.
