UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond sophomore Nick Austin was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and Spider freshman Jack Wilkes was named A-10 Rookie of the Week after their performances at the VCU Shootout.
Austin finished sixth at the VCU Shootout at 2-under-par 215. After recording rounds of even-par 72 in the first two rounds, the Midlothian, Va. shot 2-under in the final round to lead the Spiders to a fourth-place finish.
The Midlothian, Va. native leads the Spiders in scoring average at 71.00.
Wilkes, a freshman from Roanoke, Va., tied for 49th at 10-over 226, including an even-par 72 in the second round.
The Spiders return to action hosting the Richmond Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian.
