Junior Joanna Matuszczyk was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week after picking up a win at No. 2 singles over GW Saturday.
Matuszczyk is 5-3 on the year (3-0 in Atlantic 10 play) at No. 2 singles and captured a straight set win over George Washington's Julia Blakely 7-5, 6-1, after defeating the Colonials' top tandem Mimi Hamling/Zoe Krahn, 8-1.
This is the second weekly honor earned by Matuszczyk, as she picked up a Rookie of the Week nod her freshman year.
The two-time defending A-10 champion Spiders are 5-4 on the year and look to win its sixth match in seven tries against Southern Miss Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Westhampton Courts.
