UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has ranked the Spiders at No. 68 this week. With over 300 Division I tennis programs, only 75 receive national recognition. The Spiders secure this honor with an overall record of 8-2, including a recent 4-3 win over Georgetown University.
"Our team has competed well all year, winning some tight 4-3 matches," remarks Head Coach Mark Wesselink. "Those matches swing on good play under pressure. We are feeling the confidence that comes with those wins. I love our team dynamics and I'm happy the team was recognized."
The Spiders have also been selected to win a fourth Atlantic 10 Conference Championship Title this year after capturing eight titles in the past nine seasons.
