ATHENS, Ohio - Playing without point guard Cedrick Lindsay for the second-straight game, Richmond led by two with 14 minutes to go but Ohio finished off the Spiders 73-48 Saturday.

The Spiders (4-2) were led by junior forward Derrick Williams who scored a game-high 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor while grabbing six rebounds.  Senior guard Darien Brothers added 16 points behind 4-of-5 shooting from deep, while sophomore Kendall Anthony chipped in 15.

Imposing his will in the paint, Williams was a force for the Spiders in first half, helping lead Richmond to a 30-27 lead over Ohio at the half.  Williams scored 14 points in the first 20 minutes, going 8-of-11 from the free throw line.  While Williams controlled the inside, Brothers was attacking from the outside, hitting three 3-pointers in the first half.

In the second half, Ohio seized control of the game thanks in part to a 22-6 run over a 10-minute span.  The Bobcats went on to defeat the Spiders, 73-48, in Athens.

Redshirt freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa had six rebounds and a pair of blocks for Richmond, while senior Greg Robbins also had six boards.

The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team will return to the Robins Center on Wednesday, November 28 when the team will host in-state rival William & Mary at 7 p.m.  The game will be part of a doubleheader at the Robins Center, with the Richmond women's basketball team playing North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m.
