DURHAM, N.C. - Richmond gave No. 13 ranked Duke a tough game Sunday, holding the Blue Devils to eight shots in a 2-0 loss.
Duke held just an 8-5 advantage in shots. Tara Jennings put Duke on the board 20 minutes in on an unassisted goal.
The Blue Devils added an insurance goal 48 seconds into the second half when Emmie Le Marchand scored off an assist from Grace Christus.
Richmond goalkeeper Anna Zarkoski made three saves.
The Spiders return to action next Sunday at Georgetown.
