GENEVA, Ohio – After the first day of competition at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship, the University of Richmond Swim & Dive team is in second place with 77 points. The Spiders are on the heels of UMass, who leads the field with 119 points.
The 200 medley relay team of freshman Hannah Gouger, sophomore Morgan Soulia, senior Hannah Matheson and freshman Virginia Marsh notched a second place finish, clocking a time of 1:41.84, just behind Duquesne who took the top spot on the podium at 1:41.23.
Senior Irina Chiulli led the Spider divers with a fourth place finish in the 1M finals with a score of 257.80 while junior Laura Rokop took seventh at 235.75. Freshmen Maddy Chao (239.20) and Sydney Weiskopf (223.10) finished ninth and tenth, respectively, in the 1M consolation finals. Chao's score was her collegiate best.
