UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- With the Spider Baseball season right around the corner, head coach Tracy Woodson has annonced the signing of the six student-athletes to join the Spiders for the 2017-18 season.

"I want to thank my staff for all their hard work on this 2017 recruiting class. Coach Tyner and Coach Davis are not only exceptional recruiters and coaches, but outstanding people," said Woodson. "I count myself very lucky to work with them day in and day out. That being said, I'm really excited about this class. These six guys are all really smart and dynamic young men. Overall, we have added athleticism and toughness to the program. Our staff believes that this group has the potential to be one of the best pitching classes ever assembled here and we know that this group will have enormous impact on the growth of the Richmond baseball program. I can't wait to get these young men on campus!"

Jordan possesses real leadership qualities and he plays the game the right way every day. With his talent and make-up, we believe he has the chance to be a very special player for the Spiders. We are really looking forward to seeing how quickly he can get on the field for us next year."

He is an advanced lefty with a fastball that can reach into the upper 80's right now. I can see him being low 90's very soon. Foster has the ability and demeanor to fill a weekend spot immediately."

  • In the classroom, he earned High Honors both his freshman and junior years and Honors during his sophomore year

Coach Woodson on Collin: "Collin is very athletic and has a great frame. On the mound, he possesses an above average curve. His best quality though, is how tough he is. He loves to compete. Some of that comes from his multi-sport background. We feel he has not scratched the surface on how good he can be and I expect his growth to take off when we channel that competitiveness full-time into baseball."

Jarrad DeLarso   |   RHP   |   Marlton, N.J. (Cherokee)

  • Volunteers with the Alicia Rose Foundation, Field of Dreams, Marlton Unity Program and the Youth Advisory Committee

Coach Woodson on Jarrad: "Jarrad will make an impact as a reliever right away and could also have an opportunity to work himself into the rotation. He throws from a low three-quarter slot with good deception and a swing and miss breaking ball. He brings a physicality and a toughness to the mound that we haven't had here at Richmond for a long time."
