STUDENT-ATHLETE TESTIMONIALS

Lauren Folgosa
Women's Golf
Class of 2010

"A team's strength depends on its supportive foundation. As the captain of the women's golf team at the University of Richmond, I have seen how the generosity and support of the Spider Club and the Richmond community has directly contributed to our success both on and off the course. This past season, our team recorded the best record in Spider women's golf history. I, in large part, attribute this accomplishment to our practice facility, a luxury many teams do not have. It was designed in a way that allows us to practice for different course conditions and the various aspects of our games. On behalf of our team, I would like to thank our donors for helping us achieve our goals."

"Spider Club donations have played an intricate role in both the experience and success of my athletic career at the University of Richmond. An important part of being a runner, as in all sports, is recognizing your individual potential and contributing as much as you can for the success of your team. With the donations from generous alumni, individual contributions help provide the means to success through their giving by helping with expenditures such as travel expenses and equipment purchases. Each individual gift contributes to the success of the athletic program as a whole and has certainly made possible as well as enriched my experience as an athlete at the University of Richmond."

Keivn Grayson

"Spider Club donations impact our success because they enable us to receive the necessary equipment in order to perform at an optimum level. Thanks to Spider Club donations, we were able to win the University's first ever NCAA Football National Championship. My experience as a student-athlete at Richmond has become one of the greatest moments of my life, both on and off the playing field. I thank the Spider Club and the University for making not only athletics fun and worthwhile, but for also enhancing my whole student-athlete experience. I look forward to being a Spider for life and being able to give back to the Spider Club once I graduate."

Beth Ann Platt

Class of 2010

"As a student-athlete, I understand the importance of giving back in order to facilitate great experiences for future Spiders. I have had the privilege of being a member of the Spider Women's Swim and Diving Team, which has undoubtedly benefited from Spider Club donations. These donations have greatly impacted our team, and have helped us win eight consecutive Atlantic 10 championships!"
