UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Chuck Boone Golf Classic will be held at Independence Golf Club on Friday November 2, 2007. The event will benefit the Charles S. Boone Scholarship and Spider Athletics.

The event commences at 9:00 a.m. with registration and the opening of the driving range. The shotgun tee-off begins at 11:00 a.m. The reception, awards presentation will begin after play. The cost is $600 per foursome or $150 for individual entries playing in a scramble format. A hole sponsorship and a foursome is $750. Beverages and lunch are included. Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin. Each player will receive a special participation gift.

Chuck Boone is a name synonymous with University of Richmond athletics. For over 40 years, Boone served the University of Richmond, first as a student-athlete, then as a coach and finally as long-time athletic director (1977-2000). The Charles S. Boone Scholarship named in his honor, benefits University of Richmond student-athletes.
