Dr. Rose was born in Richmond, Virginia, and aside from his US Navy service around the world, Internal Medicine training in Norfolk, and Public Health service in Amelia County, he hasn't strayed far from the UR campus since then. He worked with the UR Student Health Center in the late 1980's and has worked to help ensure the health, safety, and performance of all of the Spider athletes since 1987. He, his wife Rebecca and their family live in Henrico County just behind the Robins Center in Westham.
