Jon Lauder begins his third year as a member of the track & field staff after graduating from the University of Richmond in May, 2004. Lauder works primarily with the distance events.

Since graduating he has earned certification as a Level I USA Track and Field Instructor and currently works at Endorphin Fitness as a personal trainer and coach. He continues to improve his personal best marks in the 5K (14:54 at the Fred Hardy Invitational) and the 10K, running 31:14 on the roads.

He has had great success on the Richmond road racing scene, capturing first place in a half a dozen different races. In addition to helping the Spiders and Endorphin Fitness, he also has served as the head track and field coach at Brookland Middle School in Richmond for the past two years.

Lauder competed for the Spiders in track & field and cross country from 2000-2004. He was selected as a team captain in 2002-03 and 2003-04. He finished fourth in the 10,000 meters at the 2004 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

In 2003 he helped the Spiders to an 11th-place team finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in cross country by running 32:48.1 for the 10K event. In 2002 he earned the Outstanding Performer Award for the cross country team.

The Vienna, Va. native, graduated from Oakton High School in 2000.
