CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Richmond men's cross country team grabbed ninth and the women were sixth at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia Friday in Charlottesville, Va. Tim Quinn paced the men and Julie Rechel led the women.

The Panorama Farms meet served as the Spiders final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship, to be contested Halloween weekend at Saint Louis.

Quinn finished 36th overall in the men's 8k race in a time of 24:42, followed by Chris York in 61st (25:26), Kevin Romesser in 78th (25:44), Garrett Graham in 85th (25:57), Tim Smith in 87th (26:02), Alex Lochner in 90th (26:10). Conor Phelan was 97th (26:42), Sean Steller was 98th (26:48), Mike Petrakis was 102nd (27:37) and Sean McKinney was 103rd (27:44).

Both the men and women competed against a stacked field in which a majority of the teams were ranked in their region and four were ranked in the NCAA National Polls.

The host Cavaliers won the men's team title, with Syracuse taking second and Villanova in third.

Julie Rechel's 24th-place finish led the Spider women in the 6k race in a time of 22:12. She was followed closely by Jenn Ennis in 29th (22:19), Rachel Sykes in 38th (22:38), Carter Norbo in 44th (23:00), Beth Kelly in 47th (23:11) and Alyssa Mankin in 50th (23:27).

Stephanie Paradis was 54th in 23:42, Erin Lunny was 55th (23:43), Kaitlyn Oliver was 59th (24:08), Emma Berry was 62nd (24:37), Lydia Morton was 65th (25:00) and Emily Bresnehan was 66th (25:03).

 

 

Villanova claimed the women's team title, with Virginia taking second and Tennessee in third.
