
Molz, Llano Garner Academic All-Conference Honors In XC

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Jonathan Molz and Matt Llano each earned Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference honors; it was announced by the A-10 Tuesday. Molz and Llano helped lead the Spiders to a program-best second-place finish at the 2007 A-10 Championship. Molz, a senior from East Northport, N.Y., finished third overall at the A-10 Championships in Philadelphia. He ran the 10K Belmont Plateau course in a time of 25:45. A sophomore from Arnold, Md., Llano was 12th overall at the championship meet in a time of 26:03. Both earned All-Conference honors as well. Massachusetts' Jesse Regnier was named the men's cross country Student-Athlete of the Year. He is joined on the Academic All-Conference team by Llano and Molz, along with David Alfano and Ellis Wilson of La Salle, Ben Milroy of Xavier and Duquesne's E.J. Robertson. Also from UMass, Christina DeRosa was the women's Student-Athlete of the Year. She was joined on the women's cross country Academic All-Conference team by Emily Beahan and Samantha Howard of Duquesne, Andrea Florida of Saint Joseph's, La Salle's Carolyn Lipovsky and Shiyi Zan of Massachusetts.
