2008 (Freshman): Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America selection becoming the third-consecutive Spider to earn a spot on that team (Cameron Brown in 2006 and Matt Zielinski in 2007)... Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selection... VaSID All-State selection... Finished the season batting .317 with eye-popping power numbers for a freshman... He led the team in homers (13), RBI (45) and slugging (.703) - ranking among the A-10 leaders in each... Went on a torrid mid-season tear that saw him homer seven times in five-consecutive games... He drove in 21 runs in those five games... Won back-to-back A-10 Rookie of the Awards... Named A-10 Player of the Week, Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and College Baseball Insider National Player of the Week on March 17... Tied his career-high of five RBI in back-to-back wins over Charleston Southern and Old Dominion...
