UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Jim Fasano recorded two hits and three RBI to lead the University of Richmond to a 7-3 win against Quinnipiac, in the final game of the weekend series, this afternoon at Pitt Field. The Spiders' record improves to 9-2, while the Bobcats fall to 0-3 for the season.

After the Bobcats put one run on the board in the first, the Spiders responded with one run on one hit in their half of the frame. Senior A.J. Board (Raleigh, N.C.) stroked a double to center field to knock in senior Bobby LeNoir (Wilmington, Del.) who had reached on an error.

Fasano ripped a two-run double to left field that scored David Thomas (McLean, Va.) and LeNoir and put the Spiders in front 3-2 after three innings.

In the fourth, Alex Wotring (Bethesda, Md.) scored off a single to left by freshman Matt McKenna (Richmond, Va.) before the Bobcats' Paul Santucci closed the gap to 4-3 with a run in the sixth.

The Spiders posted their final three runs of the contest in the bottom of the seventh. LeNoir and Ben Zeskind (Miami, Fla.) reached on walks then LeNoir crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Fasano (Horsham, Pa.) later doubled to left field, allowing Zeskind to score.

Jason Bolinski (Hockessin, Del.) pitched five innings, striking out four to earn his first win of the season. The Bobcats' Patrick Egan took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in five innings on the mound.

The Spiders return to the field on Thursday, March 11 when they face cross-town rival Virginia Commonwealth at 4 p.m.
