UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond baseball game at VCU, scheduled for Tuesday night at The Diamond, has been cancelled due to rain. The game will not be rescheduled.

This marks Richmond's seventh game this season lost due to weather, and the third-consecutive season that the Spiders and Rams have not completed their two-game season series.

The Spiders (20-20, 9-12) are set to host Norfolk State Wednesday at Pitt Field (3 p.m.) in Richmond's regular-season home finale, before opening a pivotal three-game Atlantic 10 series at Fordham (16-29, 10-11) Friday in Bronx, N.Y.

With just six conference games remaining, the Spiders sit alone in ninth place, but are just two games back of sixth. The top six teams qualify for the 2009 A-10 Tournament, to be held at Fifth-Third Field in Dayton, Ohio from May 20-23.
