UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Vince Riggi, named a Co-Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday, was honored by the College Baseball Foundation Tuesday. The Saratoga Spring, N.Y., native returned to the designated hitter spot against William & Mary, Wednesday, March 29 after missing 13-straight with a nagging leg injury, and turned in a 7-for-14 week to earn a spot on the CBF's Weekly Honor Roll.

Riggi opened his return with three-straight multi-hit games, including two in Atlantic 10 play against Massachusetts over the weekend. The junior, who finished the week with a .500 average going 7-for-14 with three doubles, currently has a streak of three-straight games with at least two RBI.

Riggi led the squad in hitting over the week, as well as being tops on the squad in doubles (3). He was second to freshman Cameron Brown's total of nine RBI, after driving in seven in four games. Riggi is currently hitting .421 (8-for 19) in seven games, and has a team-best on-base percentage of .520.

Richmond will continue its 10-game homestand this week with midweek games against James Madison and Virginia at Pitt Field. First pitch today, April 4, against the Dukes and Wednesday, April 5, against the Cavaliers is slated for 3 p.m. The Spiders then host Dayton in a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference set April 7-9, at Pitt Field. First pitch Friday is set for 2:30 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday's games will begin at 1 p.m. and noon, respectively.
