Spiders Step Into The Ring
The first thing Omar Sellers told University of Richmond basketball players Sunday night was "Tie your shoelaces together." About 20 pairs of eyebrows raised, but each Spider bent and connected his inside laces. Members of the Richmond basketball team received their first boxing lesson, aimed at helping them with speed, agility and footwork on the court.

Spider Men's Basketball Ranked As 65th Most Prestigious Program By ESPN
ESPN.com ranked the Richmond men's basketball program as the 65th most prestigious men's college basketball program in the country since the 1984-85 season, the year the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams. The Spiders finished ahead of such schools as West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia, Charlotte, Notre Dame, VCU, DePaul, Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

Spiders Announce 2008-09 Atlantic 10 Conference Opponents
Two teams that played in the 2008 NCAA Tournament and two that played in the NIT highlight the Richmond men's basketball team's 2008-09 Atlantic 10 Conference home schedule. The Spiders will host Xavier (NCAA Elite 8) and Saint Joseph's (NCAA), along with 2008 NIT participants Charlotte and Rhode Island. Charlotte, George Washington and Saint Louis are the three teams that Richmond will face both home and away.
