
Bucknor Delivers Game-Winner for Canadian National Team

Jermaine Bucknor's three-point play with 18.7 seconds remaining lifted the Canadian National Team to a come-from-behind 68-67 victory over Angola in the first of a three-game exhibition series in Canada.
Bucknor chipped in 11 points in the second game of the series as Canada rallied again, winning 76-70 Thursday night, after trailing by 15 points at halftime.
The Canadian team dropped the final game of the series. The contests were a prelude to the FIBA World Championship Qualification Tournament to be held in the Dominican Republic from August 24th to September 4th.
Bucknor, who will begin his senior season at Richmond this fall, tallied 12 points and grabbed six rebounds, and was dubbed "Canada's last minute hero" for his dramatic end-of-game play. The Canadians rallied from an eight point deficit in the fourth quarter o fthe series opener.
Bucknor averaged 11 points and six rebounds for the '04-'05 Spiders.
