Chris Jones, who was promoted to director of sports medicine in June of 2006, is entering his eighth season with the Spiders. He received his bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Ursinus College in 1998 and later completed his MS in Exercise Physiology from the University of Delaware in 2000. While performing his graduate work, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Villanova University where he worked primarily with the football and baseball teams. Jones served an internship in Major League Baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies in the summer of 1999. After completing his graduate work, he served as seasonal assistant athletic trainer for the New York Jets from 2000-01. Jones, who came to Richmond in 2002 as head football athletic trainer, is a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist. He is also USA Weightlifing Olympic Club Coach. He and his wife Beth have a daughter, Maia. |
