Richmond City Council To Vote On First Market Stadium Expansion Monday
The University of Richmond's plan to expand First Market Stadium and bring football home to campus goes before a vote of the Richmond City Council on Monday. Approval by the City Council allows the project to remain on schedule to open for the 2010 football season.

Arman Shields is one of two Spiders to be drafted and signed this summer.

Arman Shields Signs With Oakland
The Oakland Raiders have signed rookie wide receiver Arman Shields to a contract. The Raiders' fourth round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft signed the contract in the Hall of Fame room at the team's Alameda, Calif., facility on Wednesday.

Sophomore LB Eric McBride was a Preseason All-CAA Football honoree and the defending Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Six Named Preseason All-CAA Football; No. 3 Richmond Tabbed South Champ
When the 2008 Richmond Football season kicks off August 30 with first-year head coach Mike London at the helm, the expectations - at minimum - will include a CAA Football South Division title. In a preseason poll of the league's head coaches and media, the Spiders were tabbed as the South Division winner and had a league-best six Preseason All-Conference picks.
