UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The University of Richmond will host National Football League scouts and position coaches on Thursday, March 19 for the Spiders' annual Pro Day at First Market Stadium. This year's event is open only to Richmond football players and begins at 4 p.m.

A number of Spiders are expected to work out in front of the NFL teams, including RB Josh Vaughan, TE Joe Stewart, FB John Crone and TE Joe Monteverde. The players will run through a number of tests and drills on the field -- similar to those conducted at this week's NFL Scouting Combine, which DE Lawrence Sidbury is attending.

Richmond had its largest Pro Day turnout last season as scouts from 32 NFL clubs were on hand for Tim Hightower's and Arman Shields' workouts. Both were drafted, with Hightower ending his first pro season with the NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals.
