RICHMOND, Va. - Members of the University of Richmond football team recently volunteered their time at the Oak Grove Elementary School in Richmond, taking part in the school's First Book Assembly.

Spiders Kendall Gaskins, Tyler Kirchoff and Harry Lee Daniel spoke at the assembly, which included close to 100 fourth and fifth graders, telling about their favorite books growing up. The Spiders then took part in a speed reading contest, which challenged how many words they could ready from a Dr. Seuss book in 90 seconds.

This is the second-straight year the Spiders have taken part in Oak Grove's First Book assembly.
