UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond has put the finishing touches on the 2009 football schedule and the reigning National Champions are set to appear on television at least five times during the regular season, including a pair of key home CAA Football games versus Villanova and William & Mary. Richmond opens the season Sept. 5 at Duke at 7 p.m.

The Spiders have also unveiled game times for all 11 regular-season contests.

As part of CAA Football's comprehensive television package, the Spiders are slated on the Comcast family of networks five times during the 2009 regular season, including the regular-season finale - and the final Richmond Football game in the 81-year history of UR Stadium - Nov. 21 vs. William & Mary at 12 p.m. on The Comcast Network (TCN).

TCN is also carrying Richmond's conference-opener at Delaware Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m., while three games will air on Comcast SportsNet: Oct. 10 at James Madison (12 p.m.), Oct. 17 at Maine (12 p.m.) and Nov. 7 vs. Villanova (3:30 p.m.). Both TCN and CSN have distribution across the East Coast and are available on satellite packages.

The kickoff for Richmond's three remaining home contests is 3 p.m. -- Hofstra (Sept. 19), VMI (Sept. 26) and Massachusetts (Oct. 24) - with road games at Towson (Oct. 31) and Georgetown (Nov. 14) kicking off at 1 p.m.

By the end of the 2009 regular season, the Spiders will have made at least 21 appearances on national or regional television since 2007 - six on the ESPN family of networks - and 15 as part of CAA Football's package. Richmond has had five Comcast games in each of the last two seasons, along with a league-leading five more this season (Villanova and James Madison also have five TV games in 2009).

The Spiders won the 2008 Division I Football National Championship and return 18 starters (including kickers and punters) for head coach Mike London's second season at the helm. No other team in CAA Football has made more NCAA Playoff appearances (five) or won more conference championships (four) than the Spiders since 1998.
