Football Opens Training Camp Monday

    UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Head Coach Dave Clawson welcomed the 2007 Spiders to campus on Sunday and the team took the field Monday afternoon as the 125th season of Richmond Football is set to kickoff in less than a month.     During camp, video highlights and interviews with Coach Clawson and selected players can be found via SpiderTV on RichmondSpiders.com.

    Sunday will include a number of meetings for the football student-athletes, along with photos and a team meal. Training Camp officially begins Monday with lifting and conditioning tests in the morning and the first practice at 3 p.m.

    Richmond opens the season with three straight road contests, including the season-opener at Vanderbilt on Sept. 1. The home opener is set for Sept. 29 at UR Stadium versus New Hampshire, which is also Family Weekend. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
