UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond has teamed with its corporate partner Coca-Cola to unveil a special edition Coke can to celebrate the Spiders' 2008 National Championship in football. The can will hit store shelves later this summer.

Local Ukrops Super Markets, along with other grocery stores in the Richmond area, will stock the cans, beginning approximately August 17. The cans will remain on shelves while supplies last.

The Spiders captured the Division I Football National Championship last season - the first NCAA team championship in school history. Richmond returns 18 starters off that team, including five All-Americans, and enters the 2009 season with the school's first-ever national preseason ranking of No. 1.

Richmond was also tabbed as the CAA Football preseason co-champion, with Villanova.
