Quick Slants:
• Following its bye week, top-ranked Richmond is at No. 13 James Madison Saturday for the first of three-consecutive crucial CAA Football matchups.

• The Spiders have won a school-record 13-consecutive games, dating back to last season. It's a streak that ranks as the longest in the FCS and second-longest in Division I football behind Florida (13).

• Richmond currently owns the longest road winning streak in Division-I football of eight games (tied with Boise State) -- the Spiders' last road loss was Sept. 27 at Villanova.

• The Spiders own a 7-5 record all-time versus the Dukes at Bridgeforth Stadium and lead the overall series 14-12. The road team has won the last five meetings between rivals.

• Saturday's game marks the sixth-straight season that one (or both) teams enter the UR-JMU game when ranked in the Top-25. Including Saturday, both teams have been ranked 14th or better in each of the last four meetings.

• Total points all-time in the series: JMU: 587, Richmond: 585.

• The match-up features the last two CAA Football teams to win the National Championship: Richmond in 2008 and James Madison in 2004 (Appalachian State won it in 2005, 2006 and 2007).

• Senior QB Eric Ward recorded the second-best passing game in school history by throwing for 394 yards in Richmond's 38-28 win over VMI -- it marked the first-ever 300-yard game for Ward, who was named the CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week.

• Ward needs just one more TD pass to tie the school's career record of 54 held by Bob Bleier.

• WR Kevin Grayson was named to the AFCA Good Works Team, which was announced Sept. 22. He joins Florida's Tim Tebow and 21 others college players nationwide to be honored.

Up Next:
The Spiders remain on the road next Saturday, with a game at Maine. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET.
