Quick Slants:
• No. 4 Richmond and No. 5 William & Mary are meeting for the 119th time and no game in the rivalry's storied history holds more meaning than Saturday's with the Capital Cup, and at least a share of the 2009 CAA Football title hanging in the balance.

• The Spiders and Tribe sport similar 9-1 overall records and the 18 combined victories is the most in series history. Saturday's game also marks the best combined Top-25 rank in series history.

• The winner takes home the new Capital Cup, which replaced the old I-64 Trophy this season. Although William & Mary leads the all-time series 59-54-5, Richmond has dominated the recent history by winning four straight and seven of the last 11 games.

• Neither team has ever reached the 10-win mark during a regular season in school history.

• With each team all but guaranteed an NCAA Playoff spot, it would mark the Spiders' third-consecutive berth and eighth all-time.

• A win gives Richmond its fifth conference title since 1998 -- no other CAA Football team has won more over that span.

• Senior QB Eric Ward (pictured), who is 3-0 in his career versus the Tribe, holds every major career passing record at Richmond and needs just one more yard to crack the CAA Football career top-10.

• The Spiders have 14 interceptions in 2009, with 13 coming in the last six games.

• With 14.0 TFL and 5.5 sacks, junior DT Martin Parker leads a Spider defense that ranks third in the nation against the run (70.7 yds/gm).

• Saturday's game marks Richmond's final regular-season contest at 81-year old UR Stadium. Next season, Richmond moves into the new $25 million Robins Stadium on campus.

• As part of the "Final Season at UR Stadium" celebration, an All-UR Stadium Team was selected and will be introduced at halftime.

• Saturday's game is also the 2009 Farm Bureau Insurance Fall Classic.

Up Next:
The Spiders will gather Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. to watch the NCAA Playoffs Selection Show, which airs from 3-3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNnews. Fans are invited to join the team in Room 118 of Jepson Hall (same location as last season).
