Golf Facility Adds Turf Lined Tees And Covered Putting Green

Aug. 16, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Golf Practice Facility received another upgrade with the addition of turf lined tees and a turf putting green, both under the covered hitting bays for use on rainy days.

The state-of-the-art turf lined tees have a sand base so that players can use actual tees to hit off of them. They give players more a realistic grass feel as opposed to hitting off of mats.

The putting green, also located under the covered hitting bay area of the facility, also provides players with a realistic substitute on rainy days.

The Richmond Golf Practice Facility is the home of the Spider men and women's golf teams. One of college golf's premier practice facilities, it includes locker rooms, showers, coaches' offices, a lounge, laundry room, study area with computers, video room for swing analysis, a club-repair room, weight room, driving range, putting greens and a short game areas.
