Dave Finnegan returns to Richmond as an assistant coach after serving in that role under head coach Jeff Gettler during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. Finnegan helped guide the Spiders to a 22-14-3 record in his two years.

A coach for 24 years, Finnegan was the head varsity girls' coach at Richmond's Freeman High School and was head varsity girls' coach at The Collegiate School. He also served on the coaching staff of the Richmond Capitals and has spent the last several years coaching for the club team Virginia CASL.

Finnegan has also helped to direct Coerver Coaching of Virginia, one of the top soccer training grounds in the country. Finnegan has been active in helping to direct soccer camps and holds a NSCAA national diploma and a USSF D license.
