UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's soccer team lost its regular-season finale to Fordham 1-0 with 36 seconds left in overtime Sunday afternoon at First Market Stadium.

The Spiders and Rams each took 22 shots, but it was Fordham's 21st and 22nd shots that made the difference as Grant Kerr sent a shot in front of the goal and John Pardini was there to knock it in.

With the victory, Fordham clinched a spot in the 2007 Atlantic 10 Tournament to be played later this week in Dayton.

Kerr collected a ball in front of the goal and carried it to the left side of the post, sending a shot across his body that went toward the far post. The shot would have sailed past the goal, but Pardini was at the far post to knock it in and end the game in at the 99:24 mark.

Richmond senior goalkeeper Eric Sciocchetti made five saves in goal to finish his Spider career with 396 saves, which is first on the school's all-time list. He completed his career tied for fifth in shutouts with 13.

Richmond ends the season at 4-14-1 overall and 1-8-0 in the Atlantic 10. The Spiders honored six seniors before the game in a Senior Day ceremony. Phil Hartman, Sam Pugsley, Kyle Richards, Sciocchetti, Callum Thomas and Anders Walleck played their final game at First Market Stadium
