UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's soccer team had its end of the year banquet, wrapping up what was a successful 2006 season which saw the Spiders finish third in the Atlantic 10 and reach the conference semifinals.

The Spiders finished the season 10-7-1 overall and 6-1-2 in the Atlantic 10. Richmond reached the Atlantic 10 semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion Rhode Island 1-0.

Seventy people attended the end of the year banquet held Saturday, Jan. 27. Several awards were presented at the banquet.

Junior Anders Walleck earned the Robert S. Ukrop 12th Player Award, freshman Malcolm Joseph was named the 1975 Team Most Improved Player and senior Joe Dincecco garnered the Leigh Cowlishaw Hall of Fame Award. Junior Phil Hartman was given the Coach's Award, while juniors Kyle Richards and Eric Sciocchetti shared the Most Valuable Player Award.
