Nov. 5, 2008

University of Richmond, Va. - The Richmond men's tennis team competed in four tournaments for the 2008 fall season. Senior Michael Sommer and freshman Sam Hyland recorded multiple victories for the Spiders.

"Our team had a highly productive fall season," head coach Billy Boykin said. "The guys worked hard in preparation for the spring and have been very receptive to an amplified strength and conditioning program. We're losing some terrific senior leaders in Michael Sommer and David Berry due to early graduation. We are truly appreciative of their hard work."

Boykin is anxious for the spring season to start, and is looking to senior Sami Belakhelf for leadership.

"Sami's been great for us all year long, and we'll be looking to him for positive direction on and off the court," said Boykin. "I am proud of our efforts thus far."

The men's spring schedule is still being finalized and should be available soon.
