UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The women's basketball team travels to Farmville, Va. where they will face the Longwood Lancers at 7 p.m. tonight. Richmond is coming off over impressive wins against Kennesaw State, George Mason and Albany. The 3-0 start is Richmond's best since the 2004-05 season. Sophomore Brittani Shells is leading the Spiders in scoring at 13.0 ppg.

Richmond won last year's match-up 62-45, led by Shells' 17 points. Junior Katie Holzer chipped in with 10 points. Richmond looks to improve to 4-0.

"Longwood presents some difficult challenges," said head coach Michael Shafer. "They have good balance in their scoring with the ability to go inside, drive into the lane and shoot the three."

Longwood is looking to recover after a 53-42 loss to Campbell on Saturday. Sophomore Cierra Baker led the Lancers with eight points. Baker paces the Lancers in scoring at 9.5 ppg.

"They are a good transition basketball team," said Shafer. "Hopefully, we will take the lessons we have learned in our first three games and do a better job of putting a full 40 minutes of consistent basketball together."
