PRINCETON, N.J. - The Richmond field hockey team lost to Princeton 5-1 on Sunday in the Spiders' fourth-straight road game.

"I credit Princeton, they came out and executed their game plan very well, they really played to their strengths," Richmond head coach Gina Lucido said. "We continue to be in a building stage. We haven't found a way to blend our strengths. We are not at the point where the practice setting has prepared us for game success."

Junior Alex Malatesta scored the Spiders' goal on a penalty stroke. It was Malatesta's third goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jacki Raithel made a career-high 13 saves in a full 70 minutes of action.

Richmond will remain on the road when it opens up conference play Friday at Temple and then play its sixth-straight game away from Crenshaw Field next Sunday at Saint Joseph's.

"We have to go back to the drawing board, but the start of Atlantic 10 play gives us a whole other season to go after," Lucido said.
