Women's Golf Finishes Fall 15th At Lady Pirate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Richmond women's golf team finished 15th out of 20 teams at East Carolina's Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, completed Tuesday at Greenville Country Club.

The Spiders shot a 315 on Tuesday, after a 312 in the first round and 316 in the second, to finish the tournament at 943, one shot ahead of CAA rival Xavier and seven shots ahead of Maryland.

Junior Jillian Fraccola tied for 32nd at 232. Fraccola rebounded from an opening round 80 to shoot a pair of 76s on the par-71, 5,939-yard course. Junior Lauren Folgosa finished in a tie for 58th at 238, shooting rounds of 79-80-79.

Sophomore Christina Gray tied for 54th at 240 after rounds of 77-81-82 and junior Anne Sprick tied for 72nd at 242 with rounds of 79-79-84. Freshman Jackie Evans tied for 77that 244 (77-89-78).

This was the Spiders last tournament of the fall season. Richmond returns to action on Feb. 22 at the College of Charleston Invitational at Kiawah Island, S.C.

"We had a good fall season," Richmond head coach Leighann Albaugh said. "We have work to do over the winter, but we're heading in the right direction."
