UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Jackie Evans will join the Richmond women's golf program as a freshman this fall, head coach Leighann Albaugh announced.

Evans was a four-year starter for coach Kathy Shortelle at The Agnes Irwin School in Wayne, Pa.

While at Agnes Irwin, she started all four years and helped lead her squad to an Inter Academic League title as team co-captain.

"We are excited to have Jackie join the program, she brings a lot of great qualities with her," Albaugh said. "She's very enthusiastic about the team and the game and I think she will be a really good fit for the overall program. I look forward to see what she can do when she gets here."

Evans was also named All-Inter Academic League for two years during her standout high school career. She also received her team's 2007 Coaches Award and 2008 Excellence in Golf Award. Evans begins play with the Spiders in the fall.
